Bumble Blogger Meet-Up

For those of you that didn't know, I've relocated from the college-town-crazy Gainesville, Fla.. and now reside in St. Petersburg, Fla.

In other words, I'm a Tampa Bay area (I say TB for short) newbie. A.K.A. back to square one of being in a new place and having to figure out how to meet new people to keep from binge-watching HBO series on my television - already watched all seasons of The Entourage and Sex in the City.... help.

So, when I was invited to attend a TB blogger meet-up, I was ALL over that like chocolate on strawberries. At first, my work schedule conflicted, but that was all worked out and I drove my girl Chloe (yes, I named my car like I name everything else) on over to Howard Street.

What I walked into was not at all what I was expecting. For those non-bloggers out there, let it be known that the blogging world is competitive. And, sometimes, this can lead to not-so-warm exchanges. BUT, what I experienced at Bumble Boutique was the complete opposite.

Let's begin with Bumble itself, shall we? It's ADORBS. From the shop's colors scheme, down to its divine selection of bath bombs and Sugarfina sweets, I felt like I walked into a mini paradise. And if that didn't settle things for me, there was always the bubbly bar and chocolate dipped sweets that were up for grabs.

I mean, down to the cute STRAWS! If you say that isn't one of the cutest ideas ever, it's because you're jealous that you didn't think of it yourself.

Moving on to the goods.... The prints, fabrics and styles that this little chic boutique offers are ideal for every gal looking to add those eclectic pieces that you know will receive compliments. And then let's just add adorable stationary, sweets, housewares and jewelry to the mix, too.  Here's a quick look:

Are you getting your shoes on to drive over now? I would completely understand. BUT, things got even better....

For the event, we had the fabulous Rosie Ly there for on-the-spot manicures (including cool designs and embellishments!) that was just the perfect treat after a long Monday at work. You can call her at 813-816-9057 to make an appointment if you're from the area. Check it:

If you're wondering, I got a quick white mani with black geometric designs on each of my ring fingers! Unfortunately, I tend to ruin manicures within a week (probably why I change colors so often), so I don't have a picture to show you all. But, believe me when I say they looked AMAZING!

And now, on to the best part of the evening... the fabulous gals I met. Making friends, especially ones who love blogging like myself (I've got a whole other post to come about dealing with those blog critics in your life), is hard when you're in a new place. I can confidently say that I met some incredible women that night whom I've already planned projects with! This was such a breath of fresh air. You can ask my mom - I was super excited about this whole evening when driving home. Not to mention the fabulous Bumble Boutique owner, Stephanie, who was so accommodating and a sweetie for planning this event for us.

Moral of the story here: Don't shy away from new experiences because of how things have turned out in the past! You never know when you'll stumble upon a great group of people that are eager to help you grow, too.

On that note, be on the lookout soon for a fun collaboration with two special ladies that I met at this event! :)

Only one more day until the weekend!
xx,
B

It can be hard but it sounds like you are doing the right things to get dialed into the blogging community...great job! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the other gals that you met.
