Wedding Planning Update: Bridesmaid Dresses, Invitations and Bridal Gifts

WOWWWWW. Can you believe that we are 73 days out from the wedding!!

Seeing that number freaks me out, but also really excites me as we enter these final months. I still feel like the to-do list is going strong, but we've actually knocked out quite a few items in the last month! Lantz and I bought our wedding bands, sent out invitations, met with our officiant, and are all set with bridesmaid dresses and tuxedos for the bridal party. It's been a busy month. Answering all of your questions and giving some more info below!

BRIDESMAID DRESSES

This has definitely been the number one topic that you all have the most questions about. I am super excited to say that Birdy Grey is dressing my entire bridal party! I'm keeping the color we chose a secret, but you can see some of their beautiful swatches that they sent over to me in the photo above. As I began my search for bridesmaid dresses, I quickly realized how EXPENSIVE they can be - even before any alterations are needed. I'm talking between $250-$400... A lot of the members in my bridal party are petite or would require alterations, so this was something I kept in mind while searching. A bunch of you asked my top places to consider for bridesmaid dresses:

Birdy Grey - All dresses are $99! There are so many pretty colors to choose from (if you're unsure, you can order some swatches of the different colors/materials) and the quality is perfect. They have styles that are completely convertible, which can make mix and matching your 'maids super simple. Plus, they offer some bump-friendly styles in the case that any of your girls are expecting. When I tried on their dresses, I was pretty shocked at how well they fit and how gorgeous they looked on! I'm planning to wear one of their dress styles to an upcoming winter wedding, and can't wait for people to ask me where it's from.

Azazie - Another budget-friendly option is Azazie. They have a plethora of color options to choose from (you can also order swatches from them) and there are styles for every body shape. I have been told that you should work with the Azazie team to make sure all of your bridesmaid's dresses are dyed in the same lot so there's no color differences - this seems to be an easy task to achieve. Prices for their dresses can range from $110-$150.

Show Me Your Mumu - I absolutely LOVE Mumu's wedding collection. At the time that I was searching for my bridesmaid dresses, there wasn't a ton of options in my color palette that fit our wedding style. Since this summer, they've released new colors, prints and materials! They have perfect options for the boho-inspired wedding, and their crepe dresses are ideal for a more formal affair. Lately, they've been sharing some new beaded styles that are perfect for a Maid of Honor to stand out from the rest. Most of their styles are between $180-$250 and their sizing is flexible to fit every body!

BHLDN - I am a huge fan of everything from BHLDN. They have gorgeous options for the bride, bridesmaids and gifts. Though a lot of their dress options are $200+, it's definitely a place to consider if their designs match your wedding vision. I own a few dresses from BHLDN and love every one of them. I'll actually be wearing one to our rehearsal dinner in November that I can't wait to share! They also have the most beautiful wedding gowns for any future brides still looking. Here's some of my favorites:

Amsale - On the upper end when it comes to price, but the dresses are stunning! I wore an Amsale dress to a wedding last year, and the material/quality is actually worthy of the price tag. There are a ton of options and colors to choose from. I was lucky that with my sizing I only required the length to be altered, which was easy for my tailor to do. Most of their dresses are $270+ depending on the material you're considering.

WEDDING INVITATIONS

Eeeeek! I was so happy that we got our invitations in the mail this past week and the RSVP cards are already rolling in. As if I didn't enjoy checking the mailbox already (HUGE snail mail lover), I'm even more excited now. We designed our wedding invitations and save the dates with Minted. They have gorgeous customizable designs and even offer free wedding websites. Plus, they offer free recipient addressing - that's right, no hassle needed. We saved a decent amount of money opting not to hire a calligrapher for our envelopes. At the end of the day, we just decided it wasn't a needed expense and to allocate that part of our budget elsewhere.

BRIDAL PARTY GIFTS

At this point in time, all of my bridal party gifts and keepsake items have been ordered/delivered! I'm so excited for the big day to be here and to celebrate with everyone. For my girls, I've purchased robes for them to wear on the day - each on their own custom hanger to take home as well. There will also be bags that I've put together for each of them with little goodies and items they can use on the day like glasses and jewelry. It's important to me for them to know how much I appreciate having them by my side during this major life event. I couldn't do it without my girls! Below are a few of my favorite places that I've purchased items throughout this year for the bachelorette party, wedding day and more:
