Dallas Travel Guide: The Best Spots to Eat and See

I've wanted to visit the Dallas area for a LONG time. So, when the Gators ended up playing Michigan at AT&T Stadium for the season opener, it seemed like a no-brainer. Between the city vibe and amazing places to eat, I was wishing that we had a full week to spend in this Texas hotspot. Are you heading there soon or looking for some places to try? Check out my top picks below!

Where to Eat:

  • Breadwinners Cafe - the BEST pancakes I've ever had (and they were packed with bacon pieces, aka HEAVEN)
  • 18th and Vine - this BBQ was delicious!! As a note, make sure to call ahead to see if they've run out of any of their meats (there's limited supply of some) in case you had your heart set on the brisket or something particular. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts and potatoes as sides!
  • The Standard Pour - a great restaurant and bar with a great view of Dallas! Super fun for a happy hour with friends.
  • Fat Rabbit - Great drinks, artichoke dip and flatbreads! You can't go wrong with the Spaghetti Squash!
  • Dream Cafe - order the French Toast and thank me later.
  • Ida Claire's - Probably one of the trendiest spots I've seen - perfect for an insta photo-op!
  • Smoke - the granola bowl and lunch options here were delicious! Be prepared to smell heavenly BBQ smells as soon as you walk in.
  • The Rustic - one of the best bars!
  • Mi Cocina - probably the best Tex Mex you will ever find.
  • Bird Bakery - an adorable bakery that you'll want to see in person!

What to Do:

  • AT&T Stadium - Dallas Cowboys stadium!
  • Globe Life Park - head out one afternoon for a Rangers' game! Warning: it can get HOT.
  • Deep Ellum - such a cool area! Definitely a little crazy at night, but pretty neat options for a night out. Plus, there's rolled ice cream at Chills 360!
  • Highland Park Village - SHOPPING!
  • Lower Greenville Neighborhood - lots of cool bars and restaurants!
  • The Joule - such a fun rooftop pool!

Of course, there are so many other options, but this is what we were able to do and see during our long weekend there! We are definitely planning to make another visit soon! If you have other recs, leave them in the comments below!
