MEADOW + THE MOMA

It’s always nice to have friends and family visit, especially when living so far from home (So happy you were able to come for a few days, Kat!). With a weekend of sunny skies and a long to-do list, we started out with an afternoon picnic in Central Park!

On the way there, we happened to spot Magnolia Bakery (it’s been on my to-do list since I got here a month ago). So, we popped in to grab a few treats for our picnic – fresh strawberry cupcakes and their popular banana pudding.

I would’ve fallen asleep right there under a shaded tree, but we wanted to explore all different areas of the park. So, we made our way around and exited near the Upper East Side area of the park by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (after stopping and admiring the pond area below for a little while).

Moving to the next item on our list, we decided to go to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). On Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., the museum offers free admission – make sure to get there early since a line usually forms for the free tickets! Each of the eight floors of the museum showcase different exhibits and art types. Don’t forget about the outdoor structure garden as well!

We finished off the day by picking up some cake truffles from Momofuku Milk Bar and some Moscato. I tried the strawberry lemon truffles this time (the birthday cake ones are great, too!) and they were delicious!
